Our pet beds originally were designed as a solution to our oldest dog Alice.  Alice is a heavy chewer and nervous by nature.  For the first two years of her life she made it her mission to destroy every bed, blanket, pad, and soft item which she was given to sleep on.  Tags were removed, piping destroyed, corners were chewed into nubs, stuffing was pulled out, and we were constantly worried she would eat something which would injure her. Exercise, toys, puzzles, crating, and other attempts to wear her out and occupy her at night did not help. 

Alice finally met her match when we decided to make a dog bed constructed from vinyl.  For the first time a bed lasted a week, then a month, then years.   Now we offer our vinyl and upholstered pet beds for everyone.  We cannot guarantee that all pet owners will find the same success, but we put a lot of thought and care into our beds and will always do our best to ensure you receive a quality product.

Vinyl:
The vinyl beds are made from upholstery grade vinyl. Vinyl is warm in the cold months and cool in the warm months. We found it useful for incontinent dogs (accidents are simply wiped up), bed diggers (the thick material is hard to pierce with nails), and bed chewers (generally vinyl is not palatable and it is a smooth surface). Cleanup for vinyl beds is as simple as wiping the bed with a mild cleanser (i.e.: vinegar/ water solution, vinyl cleaner, disinfecting wipes, etc.); for heavy messes the bed can be rinsed then thoroughly air dried (we suggest avoiding this if possible, but it can be done). Vinyl is not a very breathable material, so there are small air vents in each corner to allow the bed to sink and rise for comfort. This bed is a smooth surface (no cording is used, both sides are vinyl) and there is one small fabric tag (which can be cut off for tag chewers). 

Outdoor Grade Fabric:
The fabric beds are made from outdoor rated fabric, so they are washable and meant for heavy use. The fabric is stiffer and thicker than average dog bed fabric. We found it useful for bed diggers (the thickness of the material resists tearing), bed chewers (the bed is smooth, with no cording, and does not seem to be as palatable as standard fabrics), and messy pets (i.e.: dogs who are muddy, wet, or who have occasional accidents). Cleanup for fabric beds is as simple as vacuuming to remove hair, dust, etc. For ground in messes or liquid messes, the bed may be machine washed. We recommend warm wash (use of soap and a non-chlorine bleach is ideal) and a warm dry. These beds may also be chlorine bleached, however we suggest this be done very sporadically as the chlorine bleach will fade the fabric and decrease the overall life of the fabric. This bed is a smooth surface (no cording is used, both sides are the outdoor grade fabric) and there is one small fabric tag (which can be cut off for tag chewers).
