Coturnix quail are a domesticated species of quail which are native to Asia. These birds are widely kept for their egg laying potential, for meat, or for fanciers. Coturnix quail mature at 8 weeks of age, so this is the age at which they begin laying.
Our flock are housed in small family groups, in open air pens on bedding (not grates). We feed our birds a specified diet which keeps our birds happy and healthy. We currently keep a flock which includes the following colors:
Jumbo Layers (Wild and Texas A&M Cross)
**Coming Soon** Northern Bobwhite Quail
Bobwhite quail are a well known variety of quail which are native to the state of Pennsylvania. These birds are often kept by fanciers for their lively displays and their calls; or used by hunters for bird dog training. They do not mature until they are several months in age, and lay small white eggs.
Our bobwhites are kept in open air aviaries, and fed a high protein diet along with a variety of greens. Generally speaking eggs and chicks are only available May through September.
