The chukar partridge is a Eurasian game bird which is 13-14 inches long.  They are widely raised as a game bird, used for training bird dogs.  But they also are a nice species for fanciers, as they are an inquisitive bird which makes a chuck-chuck-chuck sound and display lovely striped feathers.  Our chukars are housed in open air aviaries in small family groups.
