Frizzles

Frizzles are a bantam chicken which display the characteristic frizzled or curled feathers.  They are a friendly and inquisitive bird which lays small peach colored eggs.

Caution should always be used when breeding frizzles as the breeding of frizzle to frizzle usually has undesirable results. In the future we plan to offer frizzled Polish as well as our existing frizzled Silkie chickens.

Polish Crested

Polish chickens are another bantam breed which has the tell tale large pouf of feathers atop its head.  Widely kept by fanciers, this breed is best suited to live in a predator free area or in a covered pen, as the feathers atop their heads prevent the birds from keeping a watchful eye on what is above.

Silkies

Silkie chickens are a breed, which are often collected by fanciers and also recommended as a good pet chicken for children and adults alike.  They are a calm and inquisitive breed, with smooth and almost fur like silken feathers.  Common traits of pure silkies include 5 toes on each foot, blue earlobes, and the tell tale silkie feathers. 

Sizzles

The sizzle is the product of a cross between a silkie chicken and a frizzled bantam chicken (or a sizzle and non-frizzled bantam chicken).  Sizzles may not always display the traditional frizzled feathers, as a percentage will display traditional feathers.  They are a petite and inquisitive birds.

When breeding we always cross our sizzles with non-frizzled unrelated birds to avoid mutation issues.
